Hipster essentials: Poster
This poster series was inspired by a previous project exploring Hipster-ism. I revisited this from a very minimal point of view, to evoke a sense of mystery, and to force the viewers to really examine what it looks like to be a hipster.
Herbert Bayer POSTER
Designed for a made up event, advertising a lecture by the amazing Herbert Bayer (who is now long dead). The simple design references Bayer's bauhaus style.
Self defining Evidence: Shoes
Shoes play a big part in the life of an individual. They tell a story, not just about who an individual is, but where they have been, and where they plan on going. Shoes bear the scars and scratches of our experiences. They get wet when we dance in the rain, and ware out when we walk that way. Feet are foundations on which we stand, they keep us grounded, and shoes present them. Shoes are unsung heroes, they protect us from so much, and yet we often forget their importance. Let’s not forget they can make or break an outfit. Your shoes are an extension of you. In essence, you are your shoes. They are evidence that you lived.
Since we use our feet to kick stuff around, I created a ball out of pieces of different shoes. it was nowhere near a perfect or even good ball, but the beautiful textures and colours created the structure for this poster. The image in the background is a close up section of the ball created.
